There are a number of ways of playing Balance: Some assess the spectrum of the party and provide a balancing aspect to it. Others remain centered regardless of what is around them. Others try to actively straddle the line between ‘good’ and ‘bad’. The interpretation of the principle should be justifiable to the character, and they may be called upon to do so by the power they worship.
As a Priest or particularly devout character
You cast in the name of Life, Order, Chaos, Death and Balance, you should attempt to keep all the paths in mind in all dealings. Do not unduly favour castings of one path over others.
Anything that looks like this is a restricted casting that needs requesting from the Character Ref. In addition, your character must be of the minimum rank indicated before they can learn the casting.

Range: Touch
Duration: Special
Type: Non-Stackable
Target: Person
Effect:
Regrow can be cast for one of two effects: Healing, or Regrowth of a location.
If cast for Healing, the target receives <n> Life points and intelligent Body points of healing every minute. If you continue to touch the target and Concentrate the rate of recovery is multiplied by 2.
Healing will continue until one of the following conditions is met:
Example: Guardian Sorenar finds an unconscious human on the side of the road on -5 Life, with 25 wounds damage to the chest and 10 to the right arm and casts Regrow 1 on them. They recover 1 Life point and 1 intelligent Body point per minute. After spending a minute examining the human and the contents of their pockets, remaining in contact the entire time, Guardian Sorenar realises the human is Dying, and thus losing 1 Life point per minute and therefore has remained on -5 life, but has regained 1 body point on the chest. They then Concentrate, doubling the rate of healing to 2 Life points and 2 intelligent Body points per minute, for the remaining 14 minutes of the regrow. The target regains a total of 29 Life points and 29 intelligent Body points distributed between their chest and right arm.
If cast to regrow a location, the touched location (even if it has been severed/crushed) is restored to its full Maximum Body Points as well as associated Life and Body points.
Regrowth takes 5 minutes. If the Regrowth is interrupted during this process it fails and must be restarted from the beginning.
The following Minimum levels of Regrow are required to regrow a location
| Location | Level |
| Arm/Leg | 1 |
| Chest | 2 |
| Head | 3 |
The location only needs to be touched to begin the Regrow process, it is not necessary to continue to touch the location.
Example: Rubble has been wounded in battle and lost his left leg to a Spike Trap. Rubble has 90 life, so his leg’s maximum wounds would normally be 30. A helpful Guardian casts Regrow 1 to grow him a new leg and leaves. After 5 minutes, Rubble’s left leg has a maximum wounds of 30. He has also regained 30 Body points to the Leg and 30 Life Points.
Regrow can be cast down by 1 level in order to Regrow multiple locations at once.
Example: Trader Joe has found a very unfortunate wounded black knight on the road who no longer has any arms and legs. He casts Regrow 2 down as Regrow 1 to regrow both his arms at once. After 15 minutes, each arm is fully regrown and healed.
Example: Later in his adventure, Trader Joe finds a green knight who’s head has apparently fallen off in a decapitation accident. Being still alive, the knight asks Joe to Regrow his head and his sword arm. Trader Joe casts Regrow 4 down as Regrow 3 on his head and his sword arm. After 5 minutes, his head and sword arm are fully regrown and healed.
Regrowth ends when one of the following conditions is met:
Regrow used for healing does not fix a broken location (though a Severed/Crushed location will grow back unbroken). It will still regenerate body points for that location, but the location will remain unusable.
If the character is dead, Regrow will still regenerate lost locations, but a Raise Dead or similar miracle is required to return the character to life.
Range: Self
Duration: 15 minutes
Type: Not stackable
Target: Person
Effect:
Allows the caster to give <n> points of Standing per minute to another follower of the 9 paths, or <n>/2 points to a follower of the Path of Nature with the following restrictions:
1. The caster cannot have any other Gift active.
2. The caster must touch the person, if contact is broken then the Gift ends.
3. The caster must have follow the Path of Balance.
4. The caster cannot go below 0 standing, when reached the Gift ends.
5. If the person is a follower of the same Path as the caster, the transfer rate is doubled. N.B. The transfer rate is not doubled if the caster has no Path.
6. The person cannot gain more Standing than their normal maximum – any Standing currently active in miracles, when reached the Gift ends.
Example: Cal has a maximum of 30 Standing, he has cast 5 instant Heal Life 4’s (total 5 Standing) and a Bless 2 for 15 minutes (2 Standing). So he currently has 23 Standing. If he was to be the recipient of a Balance Gift he could currently only go up to 28 Standing.
Balance Gift can be extended, but you cannot make permanent items of it.
